New Photo/Video Sharing Site

I just got an email from a reader that sent me information on a new photo and video sharing service. This service is very easy to use, and is similar to using email. It is called Pickle, and it seems not only easy to use, but convenient. I signed up for a free account to try it out before I suggested it to my loyal readers.

I uploaded a photo of Lucy, and it was automatically resized and added to my inbox. You can then create what are known as pickle boxes (like photo albums), and control who has access to them. Pickleboxes can be private, so only you can see them, or they can be shared so anyone can see them.

If you upgrade from the basic free account, the albums can be password protected. You can also allow whoever you want to be able to upload photos to your albums. There is an option for creating an email address that you can send photos to, and they will be added to your inbox. You can do this from a wi-fi camera, or any mobile device that you can email from.

And you can send an email with the service, with several layout option formats for the email. You don't have to worry about file sizes, since the email photos are automatically resized for email. The photos that you email are added to your inbox, too, so you can send them to other people, or add them to a picklebox. If you would like to try it out, send a picture to my inbox.

You will even have your own "homepage", where all your photos and videos will appear. Mine is here. That, too, can be customized to your liking. I tried all of the options for the layout, and settled on the slate for now. The retro was pretty cool too. Overall, I thought the site was very easy to navigate and figure out. If you can use email and have uploaded photos to a website before, you should have no problems. If not, the instructions are pretty clear and easy to follow.
