The "Lilo & Stitch"/Hawaiian theme was a huge hit and I took more pictures than I could possibly, scrapbook, frame or file. On top of the shots I took my brothers, friends and other family members also snapped dozens and dozens of other photos with their own cameras and cellphones. A month after the party I was swimming in birthday pictures. Enter the photo-sharing website. If you have hundreds of pictures you want to preserve, organize and share with the world I highly suggest finding a good photo-sharing website. Most sites allow you to easily upload your images and make them available online for viewing by others. The majority of sites also allow you to create keepsakes like photo books and other photo gift items such as mugs, mouse pads, t-shirts and boxer shorts. But before you just randomly surf the net and choose any ol' site you should consider the following: FEES You should not be charged for uploading, storing or sharing your images. If a photo-sharing website site says it charges you for these basic services, look elsewhere. Photo-sharing sites make their money from prints and photo products, which is why most offer the basic services for free. STORAGE Ideally you want to choose a photo-sharing site that offers you the most free storage possible. If you are an avid shutterbug you could potentially be uploading hundreds of images a month so look for sites that offer large storage capacity. The majority of sites offer about 7 GB of free storage, which is enough space to upload and store thousands of photos. FLEXIBILITY Look for a site that offers the multiple options and flexibility. This will prove beneficial especially when you are organizing your shots. You want a photo-sharing site that will allow you to organize your images in a variety of ways, for example, according to subjects (who is in the shot), event, or chronologically (baby at 3 months, six months, nine months, etc.).
