Eastman Kodak Agrees to Allow Flextronics to Manufacture and Distribute Kodak Consumer Digital Products

Under the agreement, Kodak will divest its digital camera manufacturing to Flextronics, including assembly, production, and testing. Flextronics (Singapore) will also manage the operations and logistics services for Kodak's digital still cameras. Kodak will continue to develop the high-level system design, product look and feel and user experience, and conduct advanced research and development for its digital still cameras. Full Story


Sony has come out with a new GPS unit that is designed to be worn on a belt, and will keep track of where pictures were taken throughout the day. It is guaranteed to work with Sony digital cameras, but should work with any digital camera that produces JPEG images. This sure beats trying to remember where you took a certain picture. The unit can record 15 straight days of GPS location.


Architect Adrian Sierra uses photography as a tool for documenting his work, but also to express the intangible qualities of light, form, space and order. There will be an opening reception for his work in LA, on August 12th, 2006, at 6:00 pm., at the Sabor y Cultura, 5625 Hollywood Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90028. Flowers: Details and Impressions, a series of photographs by fine art photographer William Penninger will be on display throughout August at the Well Fed Head Bookstore in Springfield, Missouri. The Well Fed Head is located in downtown Springfield at 331 S. Campbell. Hours are Mondays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Tuesdays through Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Penninger's exhibit will be ready for Downtown Springfield's First Thursday and First Friday Art Walks, August 3-4, 2006.
